Autumn is a great time to enjoy Daytona Beach and the surrounding areas — fewer crowds, ideal temperatures and endless beach time. Add to that an array of festivals to make a fall trip to Daytona Beach a priority! Here are four to plan your visit around:

New Smyrna Beach Jazz
Festival Sept. 26-29, 2019

In its 19th year, this musical event boasts great jazz music, excellent food and lots of fun. Growing each year, this year’s festival runs throughout Third Avenue, Canal Street, the North Causeway, and Atlantic Avenue. The kick-off party takes place at Flagler Tavern. Included with your ticket is one free drink, hors d’oeuvres and live music. Head over to their festival website at NSBJazzFest.com for more information.

Halifax Art Festival
Nov. 2-3, 2019

The second oldest art festival in Florida, celebrating 57 continuous years, the Halifax Art Festival draws almost 45,000 visitors annually. This popular festival has more than 250 artists and craftmen from around the country exhibiting their work. Visitors will also enjoy children’s activities, live entertainment and a student art competition. The event takes place in Historic Downtown Riverfront Park on Beach Street and benefits the Guild Museum of Arts & Sciences. Get more details at HalifaxArtFestival.com.

Greek Festival Daytona
Nov. 7-10, 2019

Another Daytona Beach favorite, the St. Demetrios Greek Festival has showcased authentic traditional Greek wine and cuisine, dancing, and live music for more than 40 years. Entertainment includes costumed dancers performing traditional Greek folk dances to live music. Sample delicious Greek desserts like semolina pudding, baklava and kourabiethes (almond shortbread cookies). For details, visit St.DemetriosDaytona.org.

Riverfest Seafood Festival

Lastly a visit to the Daytona Beach area is not complete without trying the local seafood. You’ll find plenty of it in Ormond Beach at the Riverfest Seafood Festival located at Rockefeller Gardens and Fortunato Park. Vendors serve up everything from fish tacos and fried shrimp to Philly cheesesteaks and poke bowls. There’s also popular festival food like kettle corn, deep-fried Oreos and cotton candy. In addition you will find chef demonstrations, kids’ entertainment, live music and a fishing clinic for kids. Check out OrmondBeachMainstreet.com/Riverfest for more information.
